About
Prof. Prager is one of the most successful representatives of diabetology in Austria and has specialized in diabetes & metabolism for over 40 years. Prof. Prager's career impresses not only by his achievements, numerous high-profile publications and various professional functions, but also by his continuous, non-stop activity. Worth mentioning are his PhD research stay in San Diego, his habilitation, his primary position at the Hietzing Hospital and his successful congress organization, among others as president of the Austrian Diabetes Society and the Austrian Obesity Society.

- During a scientific mission to the USA in 1984/85 he prepared a fundamental development for his subsequent habilitation
- In 1986, Prof. Dr. Prager became head of the Department for Metabolism Management at the Med. University Hospital II and was subsequently appointed head of the 3rd Medical Department for Metabolism and Nephrology at the Hitzing Hospital
- His medical career began in 1977. After studying at medical school he became a specialist in internal medicine, specialising very early on in diabetes and metabolism
