Prof. Dr. med. Jan Steffel is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, with a particular focus on atrial fibrillation and cardiac device therapy, including pacemakers, ICDs, and CRT systems. With extensive experience in cardiology and electrophysiology, he has held leading roles at top institutions, including Deputy Director of Cardiology at the University Hospital Zurich.
Prof. Steffel has held senior leadership positions, including Deputy Director of Cardiology and Senior Physician at the University Hospital Zurich, where he played a key role in advancing innovative cardiac therapies. His expertise includes catheter-based therapies for arrhythmias, advanced imaging techniques, and long-term management of cardiac device patients.
Currently, Prof. Steffel practices at HerzKlinik Hirslanden Zürich, Klinik Im Park, and Klinik St. Anna Luzern, offering comprehensive, patient-centered care. He is also actively involved in research and education, holding a habilitation in cardiology from the University of Zurich.
