In 2016, Prof. G. Prager was nominated by the Austrian magazine TREND for Austria's best doctors (Trend July 2016, No. 26/27). Previously, Prof. G. Prager had already been named by FORMAT magazine among “Austria's best doctors” in the “Best Oncologists” category (Format, No. 24, 2014). He heads the program directorate for Intestinal Tumors at the Clinical Department of Oncology and is responsible for the Colorectal Cancer Unit at the Comprehensive Cancer Center Vienna. He also heads the program for Precision Medicine in Oncology. In addition, he is head of a research group at the Medical University of Vienna and focuses on the formation of new blood vessels in tumors. Due to his training as a specialist in internal medicine and, above all, the additional subject of hematology and oncology, he is one of the much sought-after group of so-called medical scientists who complete their training at internationally renowned institutions such as the University of California, San Diego (USA). , the Norris Cancer Center, Los Angeles (USA), and the Institute for Vascular Biology and Thrombosis Research at the MUW. His work has been awarded over 20 mostly international prizes and published in internationally renowned journals.
